The Irony of Hues

The rays of the sun were coming out from the bulk greyish cottony clouds, "Such lovely weather today! It's time for exploration and enjoying the freedom I got! " It seemed like the wind was letting me glide in a blue thermal again, the wind was cold and it played the rhythm that led me to the most beautiful spectacle of the creation. "Oh! how sweet the aroma of the yellow flowers on the ground. The refreshing scent and the cold wind brought by tall trees and green grasses of the fields. The cloudy sky and the bright light of the sun show the color of nature. Freedom, peace, and tranquility, everywhere! joy and happiness!..." I used to sing this song every time I glide with the blue thermal but then suddenly, the heavy rain poured out, I was in a state of great panic as I tended to look for a place to hide, I couldn't take it, it seems like I'm gonna lose myself, I kept on flying and flying, I couldn't see the way until I bumped my head on the wall and everything went blank.

I woke up because I felt like someone was pecking me and I saw another creature just like me. " Who are you?" I asked. " I'm Aden," he said. " I'm Levic, where am I? What happened?" I asked again. He laughed at me and told me that I made the biggest mistake of not knowing where I was and forgetting what happened to me. He pissed me off because there was no funny thing with what I asked. I told him that I would leave him alone and go back to my home since the heavy rain stopped already, he laughed hard at me this time. “You are getting on my nerves! “ I shouted at him. “You fool!" he shouted back," If you want to go then go ahead, let's see if you can get out of here!" that struck me hard and I started internalizing everything by looking at the place where I was. My body started trembling knowing that I was inside a big room. " How did I get in here? How was it possible I was here?" I was about to cry when I saw an open window, suddenly I had hope, I flew towards it, "At last! I am free again!'" I was so excited. I could see that Aden was just looking at me and he had this evil smile on his face. I just ignored him and went on my way. "This is it! I wanna play with the blue thermal again!" I flew straight to the window but it turned out that I hit my head hard and bounced back with my attempt. I cried out of frustration and I saw Aden laughing at me again but this time he helped me to get up.

There was a screen on the window, the reason why I could not go outside. Aden told me that we were trapped and he didn't even know how to go back since he went inside unconsciously because of the rain as well. I told him that we should think of possible ways to go out but he said he did everything and he tried many ways but, he could not find a solution. I saw a space on the top of the wall and flew straight to it but, I found out that it was just another room with screen windows. I am now in a state of frustration and I cannot stop trembling, I am hungry as well but when I looked down to see Aden, I saw that the room we're in was very colorful. Full of colors but it was everywhere, on the floor, on the bed, on the window, hanging on the wall, there was a big mirror near the door, there was a very big black widescreen on the table with a black row of keys and letters written on it and few chairs. Colorful clothes, disarranged pillows, and blankets were on the bed. I can smell a strange fragrance, it's like the combination of orange with lavender, rose buds, and mint, I cannot describe it well. However, I wonder because when I looked at the other room, it was dull, colorless, and odorless but everything was organized pillows, blankets, clothes, and other things. That room is clean, I saw lots of books and there's another black and white row of keys. "Levic come here faster!" Aden suddenly called me. "look!" he pointed to the table in the next room and we saw that there was food in there, a turnip to be exact. We were so hungry that we went straight to it and started eating. I was so thankful that somehow we had food to eat. " We should spend the night in here since it's getting darker already," I told Aden. "You are right! Let's find a way to get out in here". He answered. We fell asleep when we were done eating. It was nice and comfortable in that room even though you cannot see any sense of happiness in its color, it is peaceful and the cold air is breathing in.

I opened my eyes and I was surprised to know that I was outside. I burst out and I flew towards the sky, it was wide and blue, it wasn't cloudy but the air was cool, I saw other sparrows flying with laughter and happiness on their faces. I could feel the blue thermal and it was waiting for me, I glided with it and it was the freedom and liberty that I always wanted. I was laughing and singing the joyous of my heart, I was sightseeing the aerial view but then I could see a thing that was approaching me, I don't know why but I was trembling and went into a panic. I flipped my wings to soar high up but I felt like I didn't have the energy, I could feel that gravity was pulling me down. I shouted and shouted, it was clear now, that thing was a hand reaching out to me and suddenly I woke up from a dream, Aden was pulling me away because there was a girl that was about to grab me. We flew high on the top of the wall, the space between the two rooms. I saw that the girl was staring at us for minutes and just sat down on her bed grabbed a book and started to read. "Whew! That's quite close!" I said to Aden. " Yeah! you almost got me killed because you aren't waking up," he said to me sarcastically. " Well, I'm sorry for that, and thanks anyway!". I said while smiling. "Whatever!" he said. After that short conversation, we observed the girl, she was quiet and I couldn't sense any danger in her. She was so simple and she was wearing glasses, I used to look at her until she was done reading the book and started to lie down on her bed. Aden told me not to trust easily because looks can be deceiving, he told me that his grandfather experienced being mistreated by human beings, that they can easily catch and play with us. What I did was I went to the next room and I was surprised to see a girl with a very bright white-purple greyish hair color, she was so busy in front of the widescreen. "I need to test what Aden said, I think she can help me." I flew straight ahead to that girl but to my surprise, she slapped me with her hands, I was so lucky to avoid it and flew back to Aden. I'm scared, "I think we don't have any chance to escape from here!" "Here I am again, I don't wanna feel this thing anymore, this feeling of emptiness and hopelessness, this is the parallel of being outside, the absence of blue thermal and the greenish smell of freedom, it's choking and killing me. I hope this ends, I hope this is just a dream, I am tired of the presence of gravity pulling you down and enabling you to move to soar high to touch the sky." We were so exhausted that we fell asleep.

I could see the light, It was very bright with the feeling of peace and tranquility, and my tears were flowing down from my eyes. I cried out loud following my breath, my heart was beating fast out of palpitation and anxiety. I wish I couldn't wake up again, I closed my eyes and suddenly I felt the blue thermal approaching, the cold wind, and its fresh fragrance, I opened my eyes and I saw the hand grabbing me again, this time I could not move, I cannot resist and call for help. I'm doomed! I guess I should accept my fate that this is the end of everything, but when the hand has now grabbed me, it was gentle and soft. I was wrong all this time, this hand wanted to help me right from the start. I heard Aden shouting my name, " Wake up Levic!!! Levic! Fly!" I opened my eyes and now this girl with glasses was holding me, I ran panicked and did my best to escape from her hands but she was holding me tight making sure that I won't escape. She was now walking downstairs and I was scared, really scared! and when I looked at her face, she was smiling at me, suddenly I could feel a haven, she was like the blue thermal. She was standing in front of the big door and opened it slowly. I was surprised when she came out, stretched out her arms, and opened her hand. I looked at her and she was smiling then she said: "You are now free, fly." So, I did.
